Title: Sym. #10 muffled drum strikes. Link to 1908 NY Sun funeral story.

Thought some of you might be interested in the link below.  It doesn't mention the drum strikes, but does describe the funeral procession that passed by Mahler's window.  I've always wondered if Chief Kruger has any decendents, and if so whether they are aware that their ancestor inspired a famous piece of trivia in the world of classical music.

I had found the same archive article a few years ago looking for the same thing. Sadly no clue what "funeral march" the band was playing.
