Here could be yet another really good single disc Mahler 9: Osmo Vanska/Minnesota S.O./BIS. The timings are: I. 27:57/ II. 16:35/ III. 12:25/ IV. 23:39 = 81:32

I am somewhat baffled about the timings because what I heard from their live concert in March was 2 min. longer (1 min. in I. & IV. each). I think this is a studio recording done after the concerts.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe I remember reading that all of the recordings in this series were studio recordings either right before or right after the performance days. I don’t have a source on that at the moment but it might say in one of the CDs if anyone has it handy.

I have that impression as well, based upon what has been written in the past.
