I'm no connoisseur of this work but I thought the tenor was well balanced with the orchestra, though maybe he was assisted a little by the engineers.

There's also some modern work on there too. Maybe it's good, maybe not. Michelle De Young has not been sounding that great in recent years, but I'm hoping this release proves me wrong.

Her Das Lied with Oue/Minnesota was wonderful, but you're right Barry. I saw her sing in Mahler 8 in 2019 under Alsop and the CSO. Good, not great. Like I said: wonderful artist overall though.

She's sounding a bit ragged these days. I'm no opera expert, but I guessing she's done a bit too much of heavy Wagnerian roles. Anyway, let's hope I'm wrong. And yes, I love the E. Oue/Minnesota "DLvdE".
