HMV Japan shows Vanska/M.O. M8 for late November
« on: October 19, 2023, 02:33:56 AM »
Looks like BIS will be issuing this in a single SACD/CD hybrid disc. HMV Japan shows 20 November as being the release date. That will most like mean January in the U.S.

Duration of 83:13 too, on a single disc. Nice!

Now, let's hope and pray that the entire Vanska cycle gets released soon as an SACD CD set, not regular CD, as was the Stenz set!

They'll still have M3 to release first. No way will they get that on to one disc! So far, everything has been a single disc, including their relatively expansive M6.

Chandos.net distributes BIS in England. They've put up the Vanska/M.O. M8 as a download that you can - apparently - buy now for 10 Pounds! There also one minute samples of each track you can hear for free. The sound quality on those samples is pretty darn good!

Sounds like downloads will be the expensive sound product for desirable music and that physical discs might be a bargain in the times to come!

Two tracks are now on Apple Music as a preview.
“Accende lumen sensibus” and “Alles vergängliche.”

My first impression is mostly good. I can’t wait to hear the rest.

Very, very prominent organ. The whole ending is generally quick, but done extremely well in my initial opinion. It’s like the tempos of Adam Fischer with the sound quality of Jonathan Nott. If that makes sense.

Thank you Eric. I'll check those out. There are 30 second samples (is it a full minute?) for each track track at Chandos.net. I'm just grateful that BIS isn't backing out of this project. Only one more to go, M3!

Thanks for that link. It’s nice to sample all the other tracks.

The 2 tracks on Apple Music that I mentioned are the full duration tracks.

I think you might have to have an account with Apple. I could only get it to play 1:30 of time on each of those two tracks.
