I think his expansions on several of the Shostakovich string quartets - "chamber symphonies" - were a greatly contribution to music than his overly fertile performing version of Mahler 10. That's just me.

I really enjoy his M5 and 10.  I play them often.

And I love most of his Shostakovich symphonies.

i'm puzzled by one sentence in the obit:

"In 2000 he completed his orchestration of Mahler’s Tenth Symphony which has thus far existed only in creditable performing editions."

Does this sentence make sense?  I thought creditable meant worthy.  Can someone help me make sense of this.
