it's hardly my place as a newbie (how do I get to the next stage,btw?).

Nevertheless I'd like to welcome the newest members - the more the merrier - and I for one hope you'll find things to say about any of the old topics, as well as starting fresh ones.

Just thought I'd agree with myself.

it seems to me that once a thread has sunk beyond the first page,it very rarely returns.

Ahhhh ..... more stars = higher status. I always wanted high status. Can I win prizes too?

Actually, I'm kinda perturbed that I no longer have just one star. There is an elegance to just one star. Multiple stars make for a rather ostentatious exhibitionistic display, don't you think? Discussion board bling.

I just wanted to resurrect this as new members have arrived.

I still want to recommend that new members look thru old threads - at least on this thread that is easy to do- as they could find stuff they want to say soemthing about.

btw, I'm unclear why a red warning pops up about posts not being made for at least 120 days.

Thanks for the warm words of welcome. In logical order, I would have responded to Barry, whose many contributions I've btw enjoyed (not least in the old threads that prompted me to join in the first place), but I'm here for Mahler mostly and I think I've got not even a full star as of yet.

As you can see, I'm one of those newer members who looks through earlier postings.
There is a lot to be learned by reading what others have thought about subjects near to your heart.
So, thanks to all who have posted many comments on many subjects. Your thoughts continue to enrich others!
