Okay thanks.  I've been trying to get help from the SMF board on this, so please keep checking this thread to help troubleshoot if any of their suggested changes help fix this problem.

For many this issue seems trivial, but for those accustomed to this punctuation, it is like being forced to mispell certain words--and with no Spell-Check to correct them.

I'm sure many of us appreciate your work to try to solve it.

And I will try the German and Spanish words I tried earlier:  hübsch (with an umlaut on the u)  creí (accent on the i)
