Quelle bonne nouvelle !
A signaler également le film "autopsie d'un génie" de Andy Sommer, qui sera diffusé sur ARTE TV le 18 mai.

This gives you the text in English; unfortunately the speaker still speaks French

So how do the live feeds work? Do you have to listen at the actual time of the performance, or will they remain available for a while?
-
Both are possible. Each of the ten concerts will remain available for a week. it's free.
-
FYI -- If you are a user of the Google Chrome browser (as opposed to Microsoft Internet Explorer), you will be automatically prompted to translate this thread from French to English.

I'm confused. According to that German site, the M3 with Salonen/Staatskapelle Dresden won't get broadcasted. You have to know too much - I'm not bothering.

translation (I do my best,be indulgent) :
ARTE will brooadcast live the wholeness of the International Mahler Leipzig Festival's programme on the net !Each of the ten concerts can be streamed (?) live and watched again for free during seven days.
From middle-may on ARTE Live Web.
I hope this will reassure Barry.
PS: they say "ten concerts" but there are 11 concerts on the list. there is probably a mistake somewhere.
five concerts will be broadcasted on the German radio MDR , indeed not including M3.

Thanks! I don't understand why the MDR would skip the Staatskapelle broadcast when the Staatskapelle falls under the MDR blanket. Go figure.
-
I'm sorry,I put my trust in the Leipzig fest website (Mahler in the media) . I've visited the MDR website and saw that M3 will be broadcasted .

oh! I've just seen that the opening concert can be watched tonight here:
http://www.gewandhaus.de/ (http://www.gewandhaus.de/)
It begins in 2 hours!
-
I just watched the "Resurrection" at this site: http://www.mdr.de/mahler
I would urge everyone to check this out. Chailly has the Gewandhaus percussion section bashing the daylights out of their Wuhan tam-tams. You guys think I'm a nutcase - Chailly's insane! Of course, he was also a drummer and percussionist himself - so that explains it. The organ in the new hall sounds great! For me, the sound was ahead of the picture though. Still, it sounded pretty darn good, and this would make a very good DVD! Incidentally, Chailly had the chorus stand at the end of the 5th movement's march section. Some people wait until "aufverstehen".
-
I'm listening now! It's a good performance... and Chailly is fun conductor to watch :)

MDR broadcasts ALL concerts from this festival as Video broadcasts at their web site.
The radio broadcasts are exactly as they mention in the dedicated web site mentioned above.
However, on the 18th (ie the day before the Leipzig M3) MDR broadcast on radio the Salonen M3 live from DRESDEN:
18 May 11: Eröffnungskonzert der DresdneS\ Musikfestspiele 20:05 Figaro im Konzert Kaija Saariaho: "Lumière et Pesanteur" Gustav Mahler: Sinfonie Nr. 3 d-Moll Lilli Paasikivi , Mezzosopran
Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden, Damen des Sächsischen Staatsopernchors Dresden, Kinderchor der Sächsischen Staatsoper Dresden Leitung: Esa-Pekka Salonen (Live aus der Semperoper Dresden; Ausstrahlung in Stereo und Surround)
