I'm genuinely excited about Zinman's "objective" and "musical" approach (as described elsewhere) to this symphony. The sound engineering should also be of interest, as always with Mahler, but especially in the Eighth.
I've heard only M1, M5 and M6 with Zinman and Tonhalle Orchestra and enjoyed his "to the last letter of the score"-approach very much!

As I recall, the Zurich performances had a pretty good cast too.

By the way, the U.S. release for the Zinman Mahler 7th is January 5th.
