Title: Anna Mahler statue at U.C.L.A.
Post by: barry guerrero on April 25, 2010, 06:39:03 AM
Hi gang,

I just got back from a very short trip to Los Angeles, Glendale, N. Hollywood, and Burbank (the airport). While we were there, my friend and I went out to Westwood Village and U.C.L.A. My friend was aware of a very tall, cylindrical shaped statue carved by Anna Mahler. I say "carved" because it appears to be granite or some other hard stone. It has lots of faces or "masks" chiseled all around it. In that sense, it looks more like a tall totem pole made of stone. It's really cool! I didn't have a digital camera with me, but my friend did. Perhaps I can get a photo of it posted at a later time.

This is it! But it's moved from this courtyard area at U.C.L.A., to a much better outdoor location about 50 yards away. You can take photos of it with plenty of sunlight on it now.
