Haven't heard this one, but I've recently seen the video broadcast of Mahler 1st with Eschenbach and the Orchestre de Paris from the Salle Pleyel 10/11 October 2007, and it was terrific.

I have not heard it yet either, but Eschenbach's Tanglewood M1st with BSO in the early 90s was the greatest I've ever heard. As I recall, it exactly fell into the type of performance that DH describes in his review of this recording.

With his coming from Houston, I know that Scott has always admired the commercial recording of Mahler 1 with Eschenbach/Houston.
