Alex,

I guess the only way to find out if there is any improvement is to get both SACD & SHM-SACD and compare.

Which means you'd have to buy the SACD version too, hehe ;D :D.

I do not have it in any other format. However, the audio quality is breathtaking: Kenneth Wilkenson engineered it though...

I own the Solti/Bartok/Decca on CD. It is a superb recording.
