An exciting and moving performance. The concert remains available on France Musique for a while.

I haven't listened to this yet (I will), but I bet it'll be the exact opposite of what an eventual Inbal/CPO M8 will sound like (assuming Inbal stays healthy and it's not too many years away).

at 39:25  the flute 1 makes a mistake when starting twice faster! he (she) continues a little while (strange effect!) and misses a few bars!

OK, I listened to this albeit via jumping around quite a bit. The offstage brass sound pretty poor at the start of the orchestral postlude near the end of Part II - what happened? Eshcenbach's tempo for the 'postlude' is so slooooooow that he's killing off trumpet players left and right. Good tam-tam smashes though. Still, he conjures up strange tempo relationships throughout Part II. I do wish there were some pirates of his Philadelphia M8 floating around.
