I bought the SACD and absolutely love it. Beautiful, honest singing and a fantastic orchestra.

I just sold our copy (The Musical Offering) to a fellow I used to work with, briefly, at Tower in Berkeley. He's going to 'burn' me a copy, but I'll probably buy a copy of it eventually - just to reward and encourage BIS.

"Gutless conducing?" Oh my, that is incredibly harsh. In fact, I thought the conducting was remarkably fresh and invigorating. Exactly the opposite of gutless.

I haven't this disc yet, but the samples certainly sound promising. Yes, there were a couple of unusual tempos, but nothing detrimental. At the "Im diesem Wetter" is taken at a nice clip, along with "Ich hab' ein gluhend Messer"
