Thanks to postings by members in response to John Kim's review in January, of MW Chung's performance of M1, I have watched many of the youtube videos of Chung's performances of Mahler, and find them very well-done and full of life.
Does anyone have a hint as to if or when some of Chung's Mahler work might be available on CD or even DVD?

His M2 will be available from Amazon.com as a DG SHM-CD import for $63.96 on 20 March 2012.

I have the Chung/SPO/DG M1 and like it VERY much.
Chung's flexible tempos + rubato, combined with the very refined and rock solid playing (that has plenty of bass and rich strings) makes this one of the most fascinating accounts of the symphony.
I heard a regular CD version of the Chung/SPO/DG M2nd will be available both in Korea and Japan mid April.

Thank you, James and John,
If others here will visit the youtube performances of Mahler by Chung, you will understand why I'm so eager to acquire these recordings. MW Chung demonstrates great competence and understanding of Mahler while personally demonstrating a sort of humbleness-- without letting himself become the "show."

Also don't miss his DG recording of Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade. It's sensational.

The Chung/SPO/DG M2 has been released in SHM-CD format in Japan.
I read a rave review of the recording which says nothing but a high praise for the interpretation, playing, and sound quality.
(I notice the first movt. clocks just over 24 min.)
BTW, they will visit Seattle on 4/16 and play Ravel, Debussy, and Stravinsky.
I can't wait.
John,
