Composer Elliott Carter died today at his home in New York City. He was 103.

Our local radio station, KDFC, played an earlier orchestral work of Carter that sounded an awful lot like Copland . . .
well, it turned out to be his First Symphony. Very Tonal. Here's a link to the disc (Naxos)
