A M3 performance remains a rather rare event.
The live will be on Medici tv on saturday 28.

Those who love M3 should try this.
I heard several passages that I had not before noticed so clearly. This is an exceptional performance.
BTW: In his enthusiasm, conductor Tugan Sokhiev at one point bumps the standing microphone with his left arm.
Fortuitously, the sound happened to fit in just about right with the music, and Sokhiev had the presence of mind to quickly grasp the microphone pole and prevent a "minor disaster."

I love stuff like that, especially when the performance is still really good, and the potential for calamity can't ruin it.

No time Toulouse to watch this! I just heard about Sokhiev in a Gramophone rave of his Rite of Spring, so this really is a treat. We're a long way away from Michel Plasson's work with this orchestra . . .
