I buy CD's; and I'll be very interested to hear what Nelsons and the Boston SO make of the Shostakovich symphonies. Thanks for the heads-up :)

Nelsons seems to be really good at ANYTHING he touches. I saw him give a terrific Bruckner 6 with the Vienna Phil. - as a sub.!

I've heard Nelson's Shosy 4th, 5th, 8th, and 10th with RCO and BPO. They are all excellent. I'd single out his 4th with RCO as the finest version in recent years; impeccably played, very dramatic, and with relentlessly terrifying dynamic contrasts between soft and loud passages.
