I think this is much better than the finale on his DG recording of M2. There's no attempt to do the very end in some sort Debussy-like, 'impressionist' manner. On the other hand, the scherzo from the same performance is also on Youtube and it's awfully fast.

Did you hear that Chung resigned from SPO recently?

After years of constant pressures from the city council of Seoul and his opponents and antagonists including the former CEO Park, he had no choice. Needless to say, his recording contract with SPO and DG was also terminated. Chung/SPO were going to record a Mahler 6th in January.

Politics triumphs over Arts! Sounds too familiar??

What a loss!
