I was at Pike Lake in Ontario, Canada. It looks like Mahler-ville, but without the tall mountain peaks. A northern New York classical station was playing Mahler 3 with the N.Y. Phil. that night, but I didn't catch who was conducting. I was having dinner with our hosts, so I couldn't go listen.

That sounds like a lovely place...and the 3rd is a perfect complement for a locale like that.
Me, I didn't get around to much Mahler, too busy with other things. But I did manage to get in the Mahler recording that 50 years ago hooked my ear: Bernstein, the NYPO, doing the 7th.
