Title: About CD of 'live' Horenstein M3 (LSO) from 1961
Post by: Marco on January 21, 2017, 05:08:27 PM
Hallo everybody.

It's my first time here. I hope to be not wrong with any "netiquette rules"!!

I'm writing just to ask information about the CD of live Horenstein M3 (LSO) from 1961 I bought some day ago.

I found a little "gasp" on the last movement of M3 (on second cd) at 1'52''.

I would like to know if it's a defect of my cd or if it's a defect of the original recording.

Did anyone find the same gasp at 1'52'' on second track of second cd??

Thank to everybody.
Marco

Marco,

Welcome to the Mahler Board.

I also own the live Horenstein LSO M3 from 1961, and yes, there's a rather noticeable glitch or 'blip' at 1:52 in the Finale, no doubt a flaw in the original BBC transcription disc which I believe was the source of this recording. You may rest assured there's nothing wrong with your CD.
