Thanks, Barry. No word on the other Bernstein talk on Mahler, "Four Ways to Say Farewell"--on Mahler's Ninth? As I recall, that is where is says the opening beats represent Mahler's irregular heartbeat. If "The Little Drummer Boy" is coming out, the other is probably not far behind.

This talk is included in the complete Mahler set DG released on DVD.  It is part of a rehearsal disc that also includes rehearsal segments of Das Lied with the Israel Phil.

And thanks to you, Ben. Either I had forgotten it was on that disc or I hadn't looked carefully when I played the DLvdE rehearsal. Either way, you have cleared the matter up.
