Title: O.T.: a bunch of R. Strauss coming from Boston (A. Nelsons)
Post by: barryguerrero on February 12, 2022, 08:46:16 AM
This looks fun. DG is stuffing a whole bunch of Richard Strauss with Andris Nelsons into a box. The really fun stuff will be with Boston: Alpine Symphony, Sinfonia Domestica, Don Quixote (Yo Ma-Ma), orchestral interludes from "Die Frau ohne Schatten", etc. The Leipzig Gewandhaus Orch. gets more of the boring stuff. This should be a lot of fun, even if Nelsons proves not to be the greatest Strauss conductor ever (and really, do you care?).

Yes, I noticed it too. The whole set is on sale for $29 at amazon.

BSO playing Strauss?? How can I miss it?!
