THIS IS A GREAT MAHLER NINTH. Elegant, transparent, beautifully nuanced, lean, yet very expressive and dramatic. The degree of transparency and clarity with which the BFO executes the score must be heard to be believed. The big outburst in I. at 20' with the great tam tam smash and the low brass in fff will blow your pants off!

Timings are, I. 28'20" II. 16'35" III. 13'22" IV. 25'45". I like it that it is significantly broader than Fischer's commercial recording.

Yes, I wish his Channel Classics recording was more like that, timing wise.
