Has anyone heard this SACD recording? Any opinion?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't heard this yet, but I'll bet that it's very good. Then again, Jansons already recorded S7 for EMI with the St. Petersburg Phil. (and I don't mean Florida). But I'll bet that this one has far better sound.

I bought this one when it first came out, so it's been awhile since I last listened to it.  I really don't remember many details, but found it to be an enjoyable performance.  The one disappointment that sticks in my head is that I don't remember being blown away by the ending (orchestra doesn't get loud enough to satisfy me, and there is not quite enough percussion -- IIRC).  I do like a "heroic" over-played ending.

Thanks.

I might try this one soon. Jansons's second recording of M6th with RCO has grown on me each time I listened. It may be the best played, recorded, and the most sophisticated version available. I really like it.
