Title: Exton's Mahler cycle with Jonathan Nott from Tokyo

So what is the point?   .   .   .  Exton makes a new recording of Mahler 6 with Jonathan Nott, but they don't make it available to streaming services. You have to buy a hard copy (CD) and they charge an absolute arm and leg for it. Buying a copy through Amazon will cost you $90. I just don't get it. With tariffs added on to everything these days, why not make it available as a download?

The Japanese recording companies are lazy in putting their products on streaming or as downloadable files. I have seldom encountered them online unless they are pretty old. For example, you can find Kobayashi's Mahler on Spotify (and YouTube).

Nott has recorded M1, M5, M6, and M10 Adagio in Tokyo. I highly doubt they will be available as files anytime soon.

Lazy, or just parochial?    .   .   .  .  "lazy" is generally not a thought associated with the Japanese by us gringos.
