Title: Now Polling the Same: What Did You Have to Hear...?

Prompted by the spread of responses to my earlier question about this, I'm wondering whether the same could be somehow meaningfully surveyed with our sample (we are 128 registered members). It would be interesting for me at least to see the result, but even checking whether it's possible to meaningfully quantify stuff on this board will be kind of intriguing to begin with (will people bother to "vote" or not).

I wonder what we might be representative of, though (what the population in this study would be).  :)

The poll is presenting results that appeal to me.
Although it was M2 that first attracted me to Mahler, in later years as I strove to be different, I turned to M3, M6 and M9.
In the last couple of years, I have returned to M2.
It is fascinating to me that a composer's second symphony can embrace such grandeur and utilize the many voices of the orchestra so masterfully.
My compliments to those of you who have voted for M2 (and I certainly don't disapprove of those choosing other Mahler works.  We're all in good company, being able to hear how much more Mahler brings to the world of music.)

Terrible turnout: so far not more than 10% of the registered users. I hope it'll be better on November 4 (and even that's not a target set very high).

I hope people aren't thinking this is a popularity contest.  :)

Were I to put on my CD reviewer's hat, M5 is giving M2 a run for its money!  :o

Hey, PT is right.  It's disgraceful that more have not participated in this "Mahler moment of realization" poll.

Come on, folks, speak up, vote, share your own opinion.
