Hi everyone,
I only listened to the RBCD layer. Simply stunning sound quality. Close your eyes and you are there.
Very transparent soundstage. Excellent trumpet, but the french horn is the real star imo.
Adagietto starts off a bit fast to my taste. I bet it will be among the top 3 of your M5 list.
Enjoy!
Best regards from NL,

Thanks. That sounds very promising, and I'm looking forward to an eventual Mahler 7 from Jansons/Royal Concertgebouw.

Yes! Janson's live RCO M7th in early 2009's was the best I ever heard and has never been excelled in my book.
I recently acquired Janson/RCO/RCO Shosy 7th. This is a stunning recording of Shostakovich's most Mahlerian and great symphony in beautiful sound.

Yes John, Shostakovich 7th is a beauty, and don't discard their new Alpine Symf / Don Juan. It is also superb.

It is also available as a download on eMUSIC.
So is the Gergiev, LSO M3
I have both of them in my car and am in the middle of the Jansons.

By the way, the U.S. release date for the Jansons M5 is November 11.
