Title: Klemperer: Beethoven and Brahms recordings.
Post by: oscar on December 20, 2008, 10:21:44 AM
I have the EMI recordings of his Brahms and Beethoven symphonies.  But many other different versions are appearing in the market.  Any reccomendation on the Testament, Orfeo, Tahra and other labels issues ?

cheers,

I believe the Danish Radio SO concert on Testament, including the Eroica, is very compelling, but in sound which can't compare with the EMI CD.

I think there's a consensus that the live Choral symphony on Testament made around the same time as the EMI is better than the studio one.
