Anyone is familiar with this Mahler 9 recording of Kurt Sanderling ? I think it is on the Warner label.
Which other Sanderling Mahler recordings are recomendable ?

Never heard this performance, didn't know there was a K. Sanderling/Cleveland 9th. There is a BBC Philharmonic M9 on BBC legends, a Berlin SO (Old East Berlin) on Berlin Classics and a Phlharmonia from Erato (OOP) those are the only ones I know.
As for other Sanderling his M10 on Berlin Classics is stunning, one of the best despite using an earlier Cooke edition with some modifications by Sanderling.
His son Thomas has done a wonderful 6th, but I do not think it is available anymore.

I was aware of a Sanderling Shostakovich Sym #15 with Cleveland on Erato, but not an M9.

That's correct. There is NO Sanderling/CVLO M9th.
Only three versions of M9th by K. Sanderling exist: BBC, BSO, and PO.

I have very much enjoyed Sanderling's 'Das Lied...', with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. It's on Berlin Classics, with Birgit Finnila and Peter Schreier as solosists. Schreier is not powerful, but wonderfully expressive, as he is in his lieder recordings. If you can find it give it a go.
