Title: Weeeee, 2009 is fun!
Post by: barry guerrero on January 29, 2009, 08:11:18 AM
What a difference a change in administrations can make (I'm jumping the gun!). Seriously, the year is hardly begun, yet we've already had the Japanese release of Zinman's M6 (along with the dvd, "Going Against Fate"); Eschenbach/Philly M2; Gergiev/LSO M2; the Japanese release of Gergiev/LSO M8, and now an Ivan Fischer/BFO M4! In theory, we should also get a Zinman M7 (wonder what that'll be like?), and the MTT/SFSO M8. Awesome, dudes. Sorry, but I just don't care about a Haitink/CSO M1 (but recognize that many will).

And if you just think about the January 2009 releases by Ondine alone: Kokkonen 1&2 w/FRSO/Oramo, Suk: Asrael w/Helsinki PO/Ashkenazy, Hakola: Piano Concerto w/Sigfridsson/Tampere PO/StorgÄrds, and M2 w/Phil O/Eschenbach...

I am pretty sure that somewhere down the line we'll have Gergiev/LSO/LSO M9th.

Oh, possibly Zinman's M9th as well  :D
