Title: Anyone own the A. Nelsons/Vienna Phil. M2 on dvd or bluray?
Post by: barryguerrero on April 29, 2020, 06:41:48 AM
I'm looking for opinions on the video of Mahler 2 from the Salzburg Festival, with Andris Nelsons/Vienna Philharmonic. The cheapest I can find it for is $25. Anyway know of a less expensive source?

Thanks.

Barry

There used to be a Youtube video of the entire performance some time ago ... I heard it and liked it very much. Very broad and well measured with the typically brilliant Vienna horns and strings. Strangely, the two soloists remain seated and don't sing during the climactic tutti passage.

Thank you, John. Yes, I remember liking it too. I'm going to hunt for a less expensive source.

I really couldn't find a cheaper copy, so I just went ahead and ordered a new copy from Amazon. I had a bit of credit built there. I'll bet I won't regret it.
