This whole performance WAS available at Takt1, but it's gone now. The sound and picture were somewhat better at Takt1 too. Still, you'll get a good idea of it here. I hope this some day comes out on a dvd/BluRay. Anyway, the last 5:40 just got posted to Youtube.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsgDxiSpckM

Wow, thank you. That’s like the pace of Bertini. The last held chord is so massively loud with the percussion thundering underneath.

I can’t imagine the next time we’ll be able to hear a new live performance of Mahler 8  :-\ or any Mahler symphony, for that matter. Petrenko and the BPO just did a chamber M4 but I haven’t heard it yet.
