Listening to the Dudamel M5 right now. Very good, not the best. At this price, I think this is a wonderful set, a great addiction to my (already very nice ;)) Mahler-discothèque.

I should correct myself: I haven't heard this particular Harding M1, but he conducted the symphony with the RCO around the same time. THAT one was good-not-great (to me).
I went back and skimmed through the rest of the performances available on their Digital Concert Hall. I do really like all of them. This is probably just going to be a very well-rounded set, like their Bruckner one, with no particularly weak links.

Like I said, I'd be interested in Harding M1, Nelsons M2, YNS M4, and Haitink M9. I will pass up the rest.

The booklet is an extremely detailed 128 pages. This is certainly meant to be an ideal set for beginners, much like the Bruckner one is.
The timings are as follows:
M1 - Harding

The only real outlier here is Haitink, with a very lengthy first three movements of M9. Petrenko's M6 finale is pretty quick, too. They should have gone with one of the Rattle M9s they have on the Digital Concert Hall archive. They're even better than the EMI M9 release.

The first two movements of M7 are each a minute shorter than I would ideally want. As already pointed out, Haitink's M9 appears to be quite lengthy. I'll bet it's good, though. I still may get this set as a download.

I’ll let you know what I think once I get to hear them. For now I’m able to see the digital booklet on Primephonic, which contains the timings.

I'm hoping you'll 'do' the Dudamel M3 before the Nelsons M2. I really like the dvd of Nelsons/VPO doing M2 at Salzburg.

I have access to the BPO’s Digital Concert Hall website and I’ve listened to parts of them all, but I’m sure the CDs will be mixed differently. I think they included the video performances on their website on the Blu-Ray discs.
I can say now that the Dudamel M3 is really quite good, if a bit dry and analytical, but once I get to hear the actual CD recordings I’ll let you know what I think.
I cannot understand why they didn’t include Abbado’s very fine Das Lied with Otter and Kaufmann from the Philharmonie, 2011. It was the 100th anniversary of Mahler’s death, and one of the finest Das Lied’s I’ve heard. Also, the box set cover is the earth, and they excluded The Song of the Earth?!

It might, . . MIGHT have something to do with how much they would have to pay von Otter and Kaufmann. Also, the Abbado estate may have a say.

The Abbado M10 adagio from this cycle was released as a digital single today. You can hear it on Spotify and beyond. I do expect that the full cycle become available digitally in a week or two.

I picked up the Abbado Adagio to M10 for 99 cents off Amazon. It’s good, at least via headphones.
