Title: Pittsburgh Symphony cancelled February Mahler 8th concerts.

I didn't know that Pittsburgh Symphony cancelled the Mahler Eighth concert that was slated to happen in February, 2021.
I bet Reference Recording was planning to record it live.

What a missed opportunity!

I don't see a listing of what the projected cast was supposed to be. In addition to just dealing with Covid, many vocalists find it very difficult to travel at this time.

John, given that R.R. issued the live T. Fischer/Utah S.O. Mahler 8 about 16 months ago, my guess is that R.R. wouldn't have issued this Mahler 8 as well - especially since we know that Honeck's more expansive approach to late romantic rep. tends to be on the broad side, thus the necessity for issuing a double disc set.
