Magnificent von Otter and König in "Das Lied"
« on: October 30, 2011, 06:15:10 AM »
The Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra is celebrating its 75 year jubilee with a concert of DLvdE with Anne Sofie von Otter, Michael König, and conductor Daniel Harding. The concert is available on free webb-tv, but I don't know if it can be accessed outside Scandinavia. DLvdE starts at about 20 minutes into the program (it's preceded by interviews with von Otter in Swedish and König in English).

Hit the button "Se galakonsert med ..." to start the concert. I hope it works, because it's well worth hearing IMHO.

Thanks, Roffe—I'm watching it now in the United States.

Today is the last day if you want to catch this online, until 12 midnight in Sweden (GMT +1:00). Happily I remembered to check back in time, and am trying to record the audio stream now. It does seem so far like an excellent performance.

Cheers,
Herb

Thank you so much for putting us on to that.

Just watched/listened hear in the U.K. That was a real treat, the best telly on tonight.

The orchestra were concentrating like anything. Perhaps they'll make a rec-kd :-)

I enjoy Lied more each time.

Sadly enough, it seem to have disappeared. The Swedish public service TV often let the programs stay on line for a year. In this case, unfortunately, not. It was a very good performance, though, IMHO.
