This may be the first recording of the work by a female conductor.

Her recordings of Bruckner symphonies received kudos.

This is a very fine 'Resurrection' and Young is swift without sounding hurried. There are a few disappointments - the 'Urlicht' hits a rocky patch - but in terms of overall pacing and structure it works very well indeed. The organ isn't very prominent but that matters little when the finale is as glorious as this. Oehms have made amends for the dismal Stenz M2, and the recording is top-notch too. What a great way to end this double centenary. Highly recommended.

That's good news.

I've been wondering about this conductor (but never heard any of her recordings); critics seem to warm up to her readings pretty well.

I am curious to hear her Bruckner Wagner (Ring) and this one.

John,
