Inbal/Czech Phil./Exton M7 - brief review

hey folks,

If you're thinking about taking the plunge - spending the big bucks! - to get the Inbal/Czech Phil. M7, I can tell that it exceeds even expectations for it. In short, this is an M7 dream team. Inbal's conducting is a bit more imaginative, more risk-taking than I remember him being on his earlier - albeit also excellent - M7 for the Denon label. All five movements are great on this performance, and the sound is outstanding.

I was blessed to have friend burn a copy of his for me.

I looked for a copy while I was in Seoul last year but they were all sold out. Too bad because everything was on a big sale at the store that day.

Instead, I ended up getting Inbal/CPO/Exton M5th SACD at a discount price.

Inbal's new M5th is also splendid, although the first two movements are a bit too fast (under 12 min. and 14 min. respectively) for my taste. His reading overall is brighter and less heavy than his Denon recording. The sound and playing are beautiful.

However, I am sold on the M7th by your enthusiastic recommendation.

I've heard the Inbal/CPO M5 also. But this 7th far exceeds it, in my opinion.

Yes I confirm the opinion of Barry.......

Inbal's M7 is really splendid. Interpretation, atmosphere,  playing by the Czechs,recording all excellent.
I consider myself very lucky to heard them live last November( of course the live event is more exciting and......eeh live
