Williams/Williams/BPO/DG film scores
« on: February 06, 2022, 07:51:38 PM »
John Williams and BPO play William's beloved film scores as if they are pure classical works. Hyper polished, hyper clinical devoid of the lush and down-to-earth sweeps and charms.

But hey, it is fascinating and irresistible to hear these popular pieces performed this way!  8)

I won't fly into one of my predictable, dismissive rages. I'll only point that there were many, many great film score composers long before John Williams (who's a very boring conductor). But then again, why would people know them, since most people only watch the 'newest' or 'flashiest' high tech movies? The whole history of cinema is not something you want to get me started on. I'll only state that people truly don't know what they're missing.
