Sado/Tonkunstler M6 now up at Spotify and Idagio
« on: September 27, 2024, 09:16:04 AM »
I'm listening to the Scherzo now, and it sounds very good!  .    .   .   .   Later on: superb and most clear cowbells and deep bells ever (maybe). What sound quality!

I quite like it and the sonics are terrific. But I have one major reservation: The first (of three) hammer blows in Finale is weak and nearly inaudible on my earphones.

I noticed that too, and got to thinking that that might have been intentional. But the cowbells and deepbells are really 'present' and audible. I'm now thinking of getting a hard copy of this M6 as well. Maybe. As a tuba player, I'm also thrilled that the tuba is so 'present' and aggressive in this recording. I'm sure the eventual Bychkov/Czech Phil. one will be a more succinct reading, but the sound quality won't be quite as good (if past releases in the series are any indication).

Where will you order the Sado M6th CD? This recording seems to be sold predominantly in download file format, not on CD.

If actual CD's are made available, they should show up on the JPC Germany website. That's where I ordered the M1. The Tonkunstler's ticket office on the Herrengasse in Vienna would have them, but they don't ship out. If you have a connection in Vienna, that may be your best bet.
