I'm so thankful that it's NOT being recorded in Wien's Musikverein, in spite of its highly acclaimed acoustics. It's a poor venue for works that require very large forces plus a pipe organ. I'm totally appalled that neither Boulez, DG, or the VPO, insisted on recording the "Resurrection" in Wien's Konzerthaus instead - especially given the fact that there WAS a live performance given in the Konzerthaus. I'm sure that this Berlin recording will be an improvement.
I now see that Euroarts will be issuing a DVD of Boulez's "Resurrection" from the Berliner Festaege (or perhaps it was an earlier performance). I'll bet it's has far more organ than the DG issue of M2.
