I’ve very much liked Morlot’s recordings with this orchestra so far.

I just have a hunch that Marot will knock it out of the park. I think it might be an M6 for the ages. Maybe. The orchestra would have to have his back.

You’re probably right. Like I said, Morlot has recorded some great stuff with Seattle, including plenty of contemporary stuff and an Ives cycle (the No. 2 is very good).

I think I will go for the Saturday concert in the early April.

Anybody planning to come to Seattle for the concert?

John

No offense is meant in saying this, John. After hearing Bychkov/Vienna Phil. perform M6 in Berkeley, I think I've pretty well retired the piece in terms of live performances. I also heard Zinman do it in S.F. about 20 years, and he added the electronically enhanced hammer-strokes in the finale. The floor shook a little bit, and it sounded as though someone had set a bomb off underneath the stage. That was fun. I really can't afford much travelling at this time either. But I do hope it turns out great and you have a really fun time!

Barry,

No problems!

I guess Morot is replacing Dausgaard for this concert?

John
