The SFSO under Tilson-Thomas are finally going to perform AND record Mahler's 8th in mid November. Here's the cast so far (tba = to be announced)

Sopranos: Erin Wall; Elza van den Heever; Laura Claycomb

Mezzo I: Katerina Karneus; Mezzo II - tba

Tenor: Dean Griffey; baraitone: tba; bass-baritone: James Morris

I don't know if he's vocally still in good shape, but I like the idea of James Morris doing the bass-baritone role.
