Thats funny, I actually have the Levine M6, but is has been ages since I heard it...I'm suprised I had forgotten about the tam tam there...

It's time to revist that M6  ;D

I think Farberman/LSO M6th also has a strong tam tam. It has strong percussion actually and that's not surprising since he was a percussionist before he became a conductor.

Of the various LSO Mahler 6 recordings out there, I like the Farberman and Gergiev the best. Furthermore, they're very different.
