I thought the contralto, Uta Priew, was a bit conservative or dispassionate in the Urlicht portion "O roschen rot," but she seemed more involved by the Auferstehen movement.
The various drums appeared somewhat blurred on several occasions, but perhaps this was a problem with the acoustics in the Christuskirche of Berlin, where the performance was recorded.
I found the choir, the German State Opera of Berlin, better than many in the final movement. The soprano, Magdalena Hajossyova, was also very good.
This is the only Otmar Suitner production I've heard. It was recorded in 1983.
