Yes it's true!! Not an April fools joke!

The recording will be released on the Naxos historical label in June of this year.
The recordings were made on wax cylinders and were found in the attic of Anna Mahler's old home in London by the new owners 12 year old son who thought they were old WWI bomb shells. His parents noticed the name Mahler and Munich, 1910 on one cylinder and became intrigued. The cylinders were authenticated by the Gustav Mahler Society in Vienna, who called the find the most important discovery in classical music recording history.

Audio restoration engineer for Naxos, Mark Obert-Thorn (who also worked on the historical Rachmaninov recordings) was very pleased with the results ofter months of painstaking work, he said "Although the sound quality will allways be limited the recordings do show Mahler's conducting style not only as far as tempo's but his tendancy to use rubato freely and yet be able to hold a firm grip on the orchestra and chorus's"

The recording will be on one disc the performance lasting 78 min.
Don't miss this one!!!!

Wow, imagine the interpetation! I guessing that it'll sound just like this:  "sh-sh- sh-sh-sh-sh-sh--sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh-sh   .    .     .
