Funny that 'Scherzo' appears on screen and Andante is performed.
I didn't time it (it was playing in background), but it seems to me the Scherzo (third) was performed faster than on their RCA recording.
If not faster then perhaps I'm getting accustomed to Zinman's slower pace with it.

He sort of 'unifies' the scherzo, by making the various Trio sections only a hair slower than the scherzo proper.

You are correct. On the CD the S is timed 14:00, but was performed in Leipzig in about 13:20. On the other hand the Andante was about a minute slower (15:00) than on the CD (14:10).
