M10 scores

I see that there's an edition available of the score for Cooke's performing version of M10. I wonder if the Wheeler version has been published? I've looked around and not been able to find it. Does anyone know where it can be found? Or any of the other various versions? (Barshai in particular)

I know that the Barshai score was floating around for a few enthusiasts. I don't know if it actually has a publisher. The problem with the Wheeler is that there are at least 3 or 4 different versions of it. The situation is somewhat the same for Carpenter.

I haven't tried to obtain a study score for any edition other than Cooke, though when I did years ago, it then was extremely expensive, and likely still is.  So I opted for only the Universal edition of the Adagio only.  Additionally, as for the other versions, they likely are expensive as well.  And the problem of which edition is which probably applies to Cooke as well.

I don't know exactly what this is (very few details are provided), but it's published by Associated, not Faber; it's 68 pages, not 246; and no mention is made of Deryck Cooke. I suspect it's a score to the first movement only.

Thanks for the info. I would be afraid of the $32 item, lacking a description. I've asked Santa for the Cooke score James mentioned; we'll see if Santa is a Mahler fan, too.

Nope. My plans for working on Mahler 10 have been sidelined by real life circumstances. I'm having to look after my mother - who's no problem at all - as well as work three somewhat low paying jobs in an effort to barely squeak by. There's literally no spare time.

Sorry for the possibly misleading info. I didn’t look too closely. Thanks, James, for clarifying that it might just be, and probably is, the Adadio.

Herb, I’m sure that Santa Claus is a huge Mahler fan and will provide the necessary score. In the ‘good, old’ Haitink days, Santa always had the Mahler Christmas concert from the Concertgebouw televised all over Europe.

I'm lucky that my local library has both the Cooke and the Barshai scores. Quite fascinating to follow the Cooke edition which has Mahler's work printed below on each page, or how differently Barshai orchestrates ("Shostakovich's 16th" -- some reviewers scoffed) while using known Mahler performing indications.
