For adrenaline rushes, try the new Britten "War Requiem" on LSO Live (Ian Bostridge/Simon Keenlyside/a decent no-name soprano/G. Noseda (cond)/L.S.O/L.S.O. Chorus/Choir of Eltham College), as well as the EMI sacd/cd hybrid reissue of Bruckner symphonies 8 & 9 with Carl Schuricht/Vienna Phil.. Both of these are superb, in my opinion.
