Yeah, I noticed. But there doesn't seem to be any indication of digital remastering.

This is one of the great M9ths made in London studio during the 60s, when Decca still knew how to record a large-scaled piece like this.

Solti later confessed at the time of the recording he didn't know much about the symphony and he just *did* it.

Japan EMI Toshiba will reissue Klemperer/NPO/EMI M2nd, 4th, and 9th in SACD.

Ditto Barbirolli/NPO/EMI M5ht and 6th.

It's been available for some time in Europe on the Eloquence label.  I bought a copy from Grooves-Inc.  It's currently available for $5.95.

I feel that it's quite great in the first three movements, but slightly perfunctory, and thus, slightly disappointing in the finale. But those first three movements are something to marvel.
